The Woking-based team currently stands 5th in the constructor’s championship, 18 points behind arch rivals, Alpine. It must feel like a kick in the gut for McLaren after the exploits of last year.
Andreas Seidl backs Daniel Ricciardo to bounce back
Although things might not have fallen into place for Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren, Team Principal Andreas Seidl believes Daniel can still get back to top form. It’s been a rough ride for the Australian in F1 ever since his move away from Red Bull. He arrived at McLaren after a decent season at Renault, as he finished 5th in the driver’s championship, 6 points behind Sergio Perez in 4th.
Andreas Seidl and Zak Brown would have ideally wanted him to kick on from there. However, that didn’t really happen. Daniel might have gotten McLaren’s first win at Monza after almost a decade, but it was far from the level of consistency expected from a talent like him.

Despite how things have transpired, Andreas Seidl still believes Daniel has the skill set to bounce back. McLaren’s Team Principal said, “I’m absolutely convinced that is possible because I’ve seen that in the past myself.”
“I experienced it with other drivers and we have seen that in the past with other drivers.”
